Ronald Boudreau has been Director of Services to Francophones of the Canadian Teachers' Federation (CTF) since 2006. An Acadian from New Brunswick, Ronald’s career in education started in Nova Scotia as a teacher, then school principal and assistant superintendent at the school board level. He pursued his career at the Department of Education in various capacities: consultant on social studies and technology, director of French as a First Language programs, and coordinator of French-language project evaluation.
At the national level, Mr. Boudreau first became involved as a parent. As President of the Nova Scotia Acadian Parents' Federation, he worked to implement school governance in the province, collaborating closely with the Commission nationale des parents francophones (CNPF) as a member of their executive. He also collaborated on different pan-Canadian projects with the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC) as a delegate from the Atlantic Provinces Educational Foundation.
Mr. Boudreau played a prominent role in developing the Framework for the Building of Identity for the Association canadienne d’éducation de langue française (ACELF). As a pedagogue, he contributed to the development of numerous French-language educational resources and regularly facilitates professional development workshops for teachers on a variety of subjects related to the development of students’ identity and to a proper pedagogy for French language schools.
