About CASLT
Our People
Formed in 1970, the Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (CASLT) is a national voluntary professional association that boasts a membership of over 3,400 second language educators from every province and territory. And we are still growing!
CASLT projects and activities depend in a large part on our committed volunteers - whether they serve on the Board of Directors, the National Council, or on our committees. Get to know our People and get to know CASLT!
Our Board of Directors: The CASLT Board of Directors operates as a policy-setting body with overall responsibility for establishing the organization's strategic direction, public relations, member services and meeting our financial goals.
Our National Council: The National Council consists of volunteer representatives from each province and territory supporting CASLT activities and initiatives in their region.
Our Committees: CASLT has established standing committees to discuss issues related to the strategic plan, to make recommendations to the Board related to policy and to provide feedback to the Executive Director on annual operational action plans.
Our Staff: The CASLT staff is responsible for daily operations. Our Executive Director, Office and Membership Administrator, and our Communications and Project Support Officer are available to answer your questions.
Our Partners: CASLT has formalized partnerships with many national and provincial organizations who have complementary goals in order to work together and provide a cohesive voice to support second language education in Canada.
