About CASLT

The Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (CASLT) was established in 1970 and has evolved from a small organization of volunteers dedicated to supporting second language teachers into a multi-level organization. These second languages encompass both official and international languages.

The CASLT Board of Directors operates as a policy-setting body with overall responsibility for establishing the organization's strategic direction, public relations, member services and meeting our financial goals.

The National Council consists of representatives from each province and territory supporting CASLT activities and initiatives in their region.

The CASLT staff includes an Executive Director, Office and Membership Administrator, and Communications and Project Support Officer. The staff is responsible for daily operations. Contract workers including Research and Education Officers and a Webmaster complement the small staff.
