Activity
When the student receives an answer from his new friend, he writes a poem about his friend. If the student did not participate in the "A New Friend" activity, he can write a poem on a friend in the class.
Learning Outcomes
If the student chooses to write a poem about the pen pal, he will be required to:
- find and understand specific information contained in a letter written in French;
- write a poem giving information about a friend;
- get to know a francophone student of his own age;
- use a model of a poem to create his own poem.
Technological skills
The student will be required to:
- go to a web site
- send an e-mail message;
- use drawing software (optional).
Learning Scenario
- The student goes to the student file and looks at the sample of a simple biographical poem.
- The student looks for specific information in the letter he has received from a pen pal in order to write the poem.
- The student fills in the template for the poem using specific details from the letter.
- The student prints the poem.
- The student illustrates the poem. These drawings can be made using a drawing software (optional).
- The student sends the poem by e-mail or by regular mail.
- The student reads the poem to the class.
