André Charlebois is retired from a 33.5 years career in education. As a French as a Second Language teacher, he taught all levels, elementary and secondary, including adult education. As an Education Coordinator for Second Language, the tasks varied from implementing curriculum at the Board level, helping and supporting teachers in the classroom and recruiting new teachers. He has done extensive training in Cooperative learning and has developed materials and presented numerous workshops on the implementation of cooperative learning in the FSL class. He is also author of several articles on cooperative learning in professional magazines and co-author of literacy programs.

Target Audience: Immersion, Core French; elementary and secondary

Session Description: Les participants/es ont l’occasion de pratiquer des stratégies d’enseignement qui promeuvent l’apprentissage de la langue seconde, tout en incorporant des habiletés sociales importantes au bon déroulement de la classe. Suite à un bref survol des éléments de l’apprentissage coopératif, les participants/es mettent en pratique des activités, toutes dans le contexte d’un programme de français de langue seconde, cadre ou immersion selon les besoins. Chaque participant/e reçoit une copie des activités pratiquées. Soyez prêt/e à vous amuser et à rire!
