What We Do
Our Research & Projects
Core French Teacher & Program Support
The Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (CASLT) provides professional development opportunities to Core French teachers, develops teacher support materials and conducts research supporting best practices in Core French. Currently, a Teacher Competence Profile working group is developing a discussion paper, as a follow up to the report Teaching French as a Second Language in Canada: Teachers' Perspectives (2006), which followed a two-year project including an online national FSL teacher survey and the development of a literature review. The report was released at the CAIT/SATF/CASLT conference held in Saskatoon in October 2006.
CASLT always provides regional professional development through its CASLT Chez-Vous days and helps support/coordinate the annual summer Intensive French teacher symposium and administrators’ information session.
