CASLT has recently received funding approval from Canadian Heritage to execute a project aimed at strengthening French as a second language (FSL) teachers’ sense of self-efficacy and identity. It will:

  • Build community around FSL teaching
  • Combat isolation in the FSL profession
  • Help teachers grow their pedagogical and linguistic knowledge

CASLT is seeking a content developer to develop a dynamic teacher resource centre on the CASLT website with content such as:

  • Strategies for improving French-language proficiency
  • FSL pedagogy resources
  • Information and articles on challenges facing FSL teachers

CASLT Responsibilities

CASLT will:

  • Establish a steering committee to select the project leader, identify essential elements and criteria, and ensure content quality and relevance. This committee will also offer ongoing support and feedback to the project leader
  • Coordinate production including copyediting, translation, and proofreading of the final draft; graphic design; and integration in the CASLT website
  • Promote the website section to FSL educators and stakeholders

Content Developer Responsibilities

The content developer will:

  • Consult various sources (i.e. reports, surveys, associations, second-language education faculties, researchers, and experts) to identify key themes, research-informed practices, and resources based on the themes described above.
  • Submit drafts of the website content to the steering committee for feedback.
  • Revise the content according to the feedback provided by the steering committee.
  • Review and proofread the final content on the website.

December 9, 2022

Deadline to submit the first draft of all content:

March 31, 2023

Deadline to submit the final draft of all content:

May 31, 2023


The content developer honorarium is $7,500.


Proposals must include a work plan with a timeline, a copy of the applicant’s CV, and a brief letter of intent. Please email proposals with “RFP: Content Writer – FSL Teacher Self-Efficacy Project” in the subject line.
