Study on the Shortage of FSL and Immersion Teachers
During a consultation conducted by ACPI in 2017, 900 participants identified the shortage of qualified French immersion teachers as a major issue in Canada. This finding was consistent with the findings of a CASLT study conducted in 2015, which reported a shortage of qualified teachers in French as a second language (FSL) programs. While the two associations face the issue separately, it made sense to join forces to develop a national picture of the shortage . To this end, we are inviting French immersion and FSL schools to complete an online survey.
- You’re a staff member in a school that offers French immersion and/or French second language programs? Encourage your school administration to fill out the survey!
You have until March 19, 2021 to participate. Together, let’s #measuretheshortage!
