Board of Directors
The CASLT Board of Directors operates as a policy-setting body with overall responsibility for establishing the organization's strategic directions, public relations, member services, and meeting our financial goals. We endeavour to achieve a diversity of perspectives through board representation from across the second language education community, as well as broad geographical distribution. The Board also welcomes support from individuals who have an interest in promoting CASLT's goals for the good of Canadian society.

Elections
Board members manage or supervise the management of the activities and affairs of the Association, and are responsible for liaison work with their partners. They are also expected to participate in online and face-to-face board meetings (normally three to four per year), including one Annual General Meeting in the fall.
When an election is called, a nominating committee is appointed by the Board of Directors. Composed of the Vice-President and two CASLT members in good standing, this committee prepares the invitation to express interest in an opening on the CASLT Board of Directors and ensures the smooth functioning of the nomination and election process.
