Each term is two years, with the possibility of serving up to three consecutive terms. The time commitment for NC representatives involves the following:

  • Attending CASLT’s AGM and Networking Day in Ottawa (late September-mid October each year)

At times, the NC representative will require flexibility in their work schedule to allow them to participate in such events.

  • CASLT supports its NC representatives with access to training, resources, and much more. Support from CASLT includes the following:
  • Comprehensive onboarding and ongoing training and orientation
  • Complimentary CASLT membership
  • Complimentary access to all CASLT resources and professional learning opportunities
  • Official support letters for your employer to facilitate attendance at conferences

If only one expression of interest for a province/territory is received, the candidate will be declared the province or territory’s NC representative by acclamation.

If there are two or more candidates, an election will be conducted. On April 24, 2026, CASLT will send an online ballot that includes candidates’ biographies, photos, resumes, and messages to all active members in that province. The ballot must be completed online by May 3, 2026.

Members will be advised of the election results in the following days.
