Dr. Joanne Robertson is currently the Director of Languages Education and Distributed/Summer Learning for the North Vancouver School District.
Previously, she was a Lecturer in the Department of Language and Literacy in the Faculty of Education at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Joanne started her career in the K–12 system where she has been a French Immersion teacher, District French Facilitator, Vice-Principal, District Principal, and Director of Instruction. Her various portfolios have included second languages, literacy, curriculum design, early learning, and special education.
Joanne has also been a Faculty Advisor in the teacher education program at UBC, a Faculty Associate in the Professional Development Program (PDP) at Simon Fraser University (SFU), and an instructor in graduate educational leadership programs at the New York Institute of Technology, SFU, Vancouver Island University, Royal Roads University, and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Dr. Robertson received her B.A. from UBC, her B.Ed. from McGill, her M.A. in Curriculum Studies from SFU, and her Ed.D. in Transformational Change from SFU.
